Triple Attack

Oddly enough, this week, so far, has had a theme. ATTACK. It all started with Claire and a certain "attack" in nursery on Sunday. She bit. Twice. Then she got kicked out. One of the kids was sticking his finger in her mouth, so she bit down (I can understand that one). Apparently, she liked the taste of human skin, because later, when another kid was taking a puzzle piece from her and his forearm was right there in front of her face, she smelt his and went for it! It didn't break skin, but it left an immediate bite-shaped welt that will definately do some big time bruising. Oops! So after that one, Claire was given the boot and she joined her daddy in the much more boring world of Priesthood. Claire loves nursery, so when she was escourted (that is, when she was carried out, screaming at the top of her lungs) she was so sad to be leaving. But hopefully that will teach her a lesson that you don't bite! This is the first time with her biting another kid. I felt a bit of embarrassment of having 'that kid' in nursery, but I take stock in the fact that this was her first time doing something, and hopefully her last. Hopefully she hasn't developed a taste for that sort of thing.

Speaking about a taste for that sort of thing, I just finished reading the book, "Twilight", by Stephanie Meyer. Sunny (my sister in law) recommended it to me so I thought I would take a break from Harry Potter (I know, I am a nerd, again- I feel no shame) to read another Young fiction! Its the story of a high schooler named Bella, who moves to a new school and falls in love with a vampire. Does that sound weird and lame or what? But it really isn't. I liked it because it really dwells on regular human emotions that create the character and allow you to accept the impossibility of the story. What I didn't like was that it was a bit overkill on the "he smiled at me and my heart flutter", "when he touched my hand I felt breathless", yada, yada. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy my share of romantic chic lit talk, but even I have my limits- it's just a tad redundant. But the story line was good enough to hook me and now I am anxiously awaiting to read the the next book in the series.

And the third and final event regarding attacks was the attack that I suffered yesterday. Not from Claire, or a vampire, but from a at church. She didn't bite and she didn't suck , but I might have prefered that pain to the pain of her attack. It was verbal. I will let her attack, and I will take the bite like a big , knowing that she did more damage to her teeth than she ever could do to my arm.

Did you know that Stephanie Meyers lives in Phoenix and is a Mormon? Tom's fifteen year old niece introduced me to Twilight when I was in Utah a couple of weeks ago. I have like five books that I'm working on right now, so I've decided to wait until I finish reading them before purchasing Twilight.

And as for the "friend" of yours, all I can say is way to go Brooke. You've obviously got your head on straight and know how to be the better person. I know that you behaved in a proper manner, but I also know if I was in that situation, I would have hung up (not because I think that would have been the right thing to do, that is just how I would have reacted). Way to be the grown-up.

We had some serious biting issues with Ben. He bit Max's (his friend) check and drew blood. But I hope his biting days are behind him. And if someone was bugging me and putting their finger in my mouth, I would probably bite it too.

It is so hard dealing with people like your "friend". Remember my "friend" Jessica? She was the same way. I couldn't help but imagine a woman flinging mud at everyone who passed by and saying "look at you, you are dirty"! But in reality, she is the one in the mud puddle covered in mud, and the only mud that are on the other people are the mud she has flung at them. And then if anyone tried to help her get out of the mud, she would only throw more mud on them. What can you do? Just brush it off? Maybe next time be prepared with something to repel the mud with? Maybe you should just bite her.

I'm so proud of you Brooke for not biting back. You used your words like a big girl should. I really don't mean to make light of the situation, it just seemed like a good metaphore. I love the analogy of a fart in the wind. What a great way to describe someone's baseless accusations. She definitely has some issues, and needs to take a good long look in the mirror before she goes telling others what they should or shouldn't do. And doing it in a self-righteouss, the Spirit told me to do it, sort of way is so hitting below the belt. I hate it when people do that! You handled it so well, it does take courage to be the bigger person, and you rocked it out!

Hopefully Claire will want to go back into the nursery so bad next week that she won't even thinking of taking a bite out of crime. I agree with Monica, if someone had their finger in my mouth, what else am I supposed to do?

What a funny coincidence! I'm reading Twilight right now and am almost finished. A family friend just lent it to me and said it was "the best book ever." Well, I don't quite share her same enthusiasm for the book. Nevertheless, it did suck me in and I thought you reviewed it quite accurately.

What is it with women? I think you handled the situation with your "friend" really well. I can't even believe people have the nerve to do that sort of thing. You are definitely a "class act" Brooke!

I love that Cody was twirling his finger and telling you to hang up. I can picture it, but seriously, you handled it well. I'm impressed that you were so rational while pregnant. I would have not been.

Brooke, Jessica was in my old ward, and she had complaints about everything. She felt that everything that was done was a personal attack against her, or very inconsiderate towards her. She didn't think it was fair that the scouts got more money than her achievement girls, etc. She's the one that has a boy the same age as Ben who had tons of medical problems when he was a baby.

I hate drama, and we women are the queens of drama apparently. :) Sorry you had to deal with that. People are just dumb sometimes. I'm glad you're letting it roll off you. Your body will be healthier and happier for your decision. That crazy lady is the one who will be eaten alive by her baseless accusations. Oh well, someday everything will be worked out in the final judgment, right? At least we have that to look forward to.
