The Long and Short of It

On December 18th, 2007, Morgan Joy rolled over for the very first time. She was a 4 months and one day old. She rolled from her back to her stomach first and within a couple of days was rolling over from her stomach to her back. Now she is a (ya-ya) rolly polly. Yesterday I put her down in the living room and she rolled herself into the dining room. I assume she was on her way to the kitchen to make herself a ham sandwich. I would say I am proud of her, but really rolling over is an instinct in every baby. So I will just say it is delightful to see her growing up.

In other news, I finally went and chopped my hair. I like it. I wish she would have cut the front sides a little different but overall, its a fun little change.

And thirdly, Claire started Sunbeams yesterday! She did an okay job for her first singing and sharing time. She did a couple of spontaneous twirls, took a little rest laying on some chairs, and shouted out answers at random, all while I taught sharing time. I think sunbeams is going to be really good for her; I just don't know how good it is going to be for her teacher!!

Shannon had her first Sunday in Primary too. I think she really likes it, though she would probably like it better if there were any other girls in her class. I hope she behaves ok...

I love your hair Brooke! Especially the bangs! You are one hot mama ;)

I can't believe that Claire is old enough to actually be in Primary. Those first few weeks in Sunbeams are always...interesting. I am loving picturing her twirling around during Sharing Time. LOVE that girl!

Go Morgan, go!!!

Love the haircut, although I envisioned you going much shorter (that is what "chop" means to me). It looks great just the way it is though. I keep forgetting that Morgan is growing, maybe it is because I haven't seen her so I always envision a newborn. It doesn't seem like enough time has passed for her to be rolling over. Ahhhhhhhh, I hate that you live so far away.

I can envision Claire doing all of those things you described in Primary. Does it help (or hinder) that you are there with her?

By the way, Tom finally came up with a name that he likes. Abigail, but call her Abi. I think it is darling (and although he denies it, it was on my list of names that I liked that he shot down). We're going to mull it over until the baby comes, but seeing how it is the only name that Tom likes, I'm guessing we'll stick with it.

Just thought you and all of your readers should know. :)

Your hair is way cute! Claire is such a bright ray of sunshine that she is a natural to be a twirling sunbeam. Claire was one of my favorites in the nursery...she is a treasure!

Dang cute hair cut, even though I too interpret "chop" to obviously mean something differnt. Kate also went to primary last week. Go sunbeams!

Ooh, I like the name Abigail. Very classic. Mike and Abi- I like it.

And I know I use the word 'chop' loosely, you word police! I did cut about six inches off, so that would make it more than a cut, less than a chop, may it should be called a chut.

Way to go Morgan!

Brooke, your hair looks gorgeous! And you look different, too. Skinny, I'd say. :) Way skinny!

Soren started Sunbeams yesterday, too. Very crazy! He loved it, as long as he got to sit in the chair right next to his teacher. I had to sit with him for a while before the other little Sunbeam in that chair decided to play musical chairs and gave it up. :)

Like I said before, love the hair. And I love the picture of Morgan. She's very photogenic. :)

love the "chut" you're working the bangs just right. I know I always said "no bangs" and they piss me right off when I have them but they really do look good. also, I sent you a book because I found it online practically free and it is the sequel to These is My Words. I hope it is good. I LOVED "TIMW" by the way. it was so well written and interesting and sad and all that all at the same time and it was just SOOOO good. Thanks

Cute hair! Love it! I am sad that I am not Claire's teacher, but I just wanted to be flexible. Congrats on the rolley polley!

First, you are GORGEOUS!!!! I love the hair. And second. Are the Sunbeams in two classes? How is in Jackson's? :) Third, Morgan is juice!!! I want to squeeze that girl!!!

Brooklet said...

Yeah, the sunbeams are divided into an older and younger class- Jackson, obviously is in the older class with Jen Gray.

Thanks Gina for being so flexible- the beginning of the year in primary is always a little crazy, so I love flexibility!!!

Your hair looks great! I think 6 inches qualifies as being "chopped."

Thats crazy that Morgan is already rolling over... my kids were always so slow at the physical milestones. Cameron still isn't walking... but I'm NOT complaining!

Love the pictures, love the haircut, so cute with bangs. And you really do look skinnier than normal. Way to go Morgan with the rolling over. That was such a good and fun stage with my kids. But then aren't all the stages good and fun?

Hmmm, I think it might be an optical illusion- you see the pictures of Morgan and her chubs first, then you scroll down to mine- I am bound to look skinnier.

Yo Brooke! It is Laurie, Tara's sister. Tara told me about your blog. Send me an email and I will send you an invite to my blog. I am at mattandlaurie@gmail.com. Your girls are beautiful and you look great. Tara needs to get her blog started but she doesn't have internet at the moment, so hopefully soon she will be joining the blogging bandwagon.
