Metamorphosis

The butterfly emerges from her cocoon.

Stretches out her wings.
Slowly, her eyes get use to the new light.

And for the first time she sees her new surroundings.

She takes nourishment from the leaves around her.

And finally, the butterfly is ready to strike out into the wild to find her true nectar of life. . .
candy.
Happy Halloween!

Is her candy basket a matching butterfly?

Brooklet said...

Yes, I made it, and yes her candy basket is a matching butterfly, but I didn't make the basket. Her costume is my $10 version of Potterybarns $90 version.

I saw that costume online at Pottery Barn. Your's looks so much better! Great job. She is so cute.

Brooke, I'm so incredibly impressed. When did you find time to make that. It looks wonderful. Did Morgan dress up for Halloween?

What a cute costume and I'm not surprised that you made it. You're very talented! Maybe I'll start commissioning you to do work for me. :) j/k! I probably couldn't afford you anyway. :)

I am speachless Brooke! I would have been fooled had I not known already that you made it. Seriously it looks so cute! It doesn't hurt that the little girl wearing the costume is adorable :).

clearly you are meant to live in the great outdoors and not in pittsburgh's booming metropolis. I LOVE the costume and the play by play. were you telling her the poses or was she thinking them on her own. neither would suprise me. too cute!!

Brooke you did a fabulous job on Claire's costume! I love that you found what you wanted in Pottery Barn and then made it for 80 bucks cheaper!!!! Seriously, $90 for a costume??? Who does that? You are a genius!

I could almost hear your soothing voice narrating Claire's metamophasis : )

I love her costume! I'll bet yours looks even better than the one from Potttery Barn.

You made that! It's incredible! The butterfly costume is so cute. You are amazing at everything you do.

Funny narration. That girl kills me!!

Brooklet said...

There was not script, this was simply claire dancing around for the camera, and afterwards I put the narration with the pictures.

The potterybarn costume definitely looks nicer, but for 10 bucks, I thought mine turned out just fine.

And no, poor morgan didn't get a costume this year. I have a star one for her but I never got around to dragging it out and taking pics in it. Sorry Morgan, the second child thing is beginning- you probably won't get to take ballet or get a bike with training wheels either.

Absolutely darling!! You are a better mom than I . . . I made Sarah wear the Red Riding Hood costume I made for her last year, because I was too lazy to come up with something new - but hey, at least the neighborhood was new, right?!

I am so impressed with your costume-making skills.

Brooke Brooke Brooke. You are AMAZING!!!! That is so adorable. I would pay you to make one for me. Not ME, but Ellie. :) And I just got all caught up on your blog and where the heck did you get those baby shoes? Not the two pairs from Target. At least I recognize those two. But the one in front. . . SUPER CUTE!!!! Where?

how do you put your current read on your page? I want to add that to mine.

Brooklet said...

Its a picture, so its whatever option that allows a picture.

Then I find the picture on line and put the address in.

What happened? Were you tired of your template?

Brooklet said...

Yes, it was way too busy for me. This is much more calming. I actually have template envy for Lindsays blog, so this is my feeble attempt to be like her.

tharker said...

Yes, Lindsay's is a good one. Jared made it himself!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your new blog.

To The All Knowing Blogger:

How did you change your comments section to MUSINGS? I changed ours before, and can't figure out how to change it again.

Sincerely,

You go to your layout to edit, and then in the post section, you click edit, and you can change the date, the comments, the time- all that good stuff.

::lindsay said...

Hey, Brooke! I like your new blog layout. It's fun!

You can't fool me, you made up the narrative months ago and made Claire pose for each shot.

The costume looks awesome and I'm proud of you for making it - way to stick it to PB!

You've had a lot of musings on this post! I don't think my posts are deep enough for people to muse about, they just comment.

I know Lisa Bowman (Brown) from Jr High. We have been friends forever =) When you were in her ward, where did you live? I was next door neighbors with her on 300 S before I was married. small world.

I love your book lists. I see we read a lot of the same stuff and have different opinions of it. haha! I liked life of pi. Oh well. you prefer scary wizard books I can see. I think this makes me "musing #29" a record??

and the glass castle. that's the other one I liked. 30!! boo ya

I liked life of pi and the glass castle. I just didn't love them. THough as more time passes, I like them more and more. Yesterday I was reflecting on glass castle and I was almost going to change it to a recommend. Maybe I still will. But they still don't even touch the scary wizard stuff.
