Pardon Me Boys, is That the. . .

When grandma came to visit, Claire and I took her to the Duquesne Incline to see the city. The Incline is on a top of a huge hill that in the old days the way to get from the top to the bottom was to ride the incline. A wee bit of history about the 'burgh. It is a beautiful view.
Claire saw the trolley (actually an incline) and all she could talk about was riding it. It goes down a steep slope and lets just say Grandma is afraid of heights, so I told Claire we could come back with daddy and take a ride.
So for the next several days, all Claire could talk about was taking her daddy to the trolley for a ride. So finally we decided to head out as a family and ride the trolley up and down the mountain. Claire loved it!
Cody was a bit scared once we got in the trolley, because it is a steep slope down. But it was is a beautiful hillside with wildlife you can spy, and we had a good time. We went down the hill, then got back into the other trolley to go back up. It took about 10 minutes altogether, but to Claire, it was magic!

one of my biggest regerets is that we never rode the incline. I talked about doing it several times and never did. Good for you guys for actually enjoying the fun stuff the burgh has to offer. I love PITTSBURGH!!! (minus the moisture)

I love the look on Claire's face in the trolley. Is she going to be a daredevil?

I'm with Cody. Heights and steel frames combined make me pretty nervous. It looks like a great view, though. And, the daddy-daughter picture is precious!

Yep! The incline is one of the fun perks of living in a city! I miss a lot of the fun city things now that we live in the sticks (okay we don't really live in the sticks, but sometimes it sure feels like it, especially coming straight from the conveniences of city living). Make sure you continue to take advantage of fun things like the incline that you have at your fingertips!

I love doing crazy local things that you'll never get a chance to do again once you move away. Way to seize the moment and make Claire's day.

Is that the incline in the top picture? Whoa, that looks a little freaky. The view looks beautiful. How do you get to the top if you don't take the incline? Is there a path to walk on, or can you drive? Anyway, beautiful view.

Chattanooga Choo-Choo, huh? :) Looks like fun! I'd probably be thinking the whole time of all the things that could go wrong. That's awesome that Claire had such a great time. It's so easy to please a child, huh?!

How fun. We still need to do that. If only to just say, "Yes, we rode the incline."

Sounds like Claire had a great idea. I bet the view is beautiful, though I think I'd be a little scared too, since I don't like heights either. How fun to be living somewhere like Pittsburgh!
